

With more than three decades of experience in architecture, development, and design leadership, Greg Johnson brings deep expertise, a strategic mindset, and a collaborative spirit to lead Multistudio’s San Francisco studio as Managing Principal.
Throughout his career—including leadership roles at Perkins&Will, SOM, and his own practice—Greg has consistently aligned vision, design, and performance across high-profile civic, institutional, and private-sector projects. His ability to merge business strategy with design excellence has made him a trusted advisor to clients, collaborators, and teams across the industry.
Greg leads the Bay Area team with a focus on design vision, operational excellence, and continued service to the region’s diverse and evolving needs. His broad perspective, shaped by experience in architecture, real estate, and executive leadership, enables him to bring clarity and creativity to complex challenges. His portfolio includes billion-dollar research campuses, culturally significant civic and residential projects, and innovative mixed-use developments.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a longtime member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). His commitment to civic engagement and regional impact is further reflected in his service on the board of SPUR (San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association).
