The prestigious biennial award ceremony recognizes exceptional interior design work produced by Kansas City and Wichita firms.

“These projects reflect a beautiful collaboration between space, structure and identity,” said Senior Interior Designer Katie Dunn, NCIDQ. “The material honesty translates into a story that speaks for itself. Our design teams are committed to a client-first approach that prioritizes collaboration and candor, resulting in spaces that authentically reflect the mission of a user group.”

By applying biophilic design principles and embracing a “learning happens everywhere” mindset, the design team created a school environment that feels welcoming, flexible, and distinctly its own. The space supports not only how students learn, but how they connect, grow, and find a sense of belonging.

The 18,000 SF Patterson Family Foundation is a united headquarters for three distinct workplaces that serve in tandem to fulfill the foundation’s mission. It was crucial that the three spaces — the foundation’s philanthropic arm, financial management entity, and family asset operations — remained visually cohesive while each fulfilling a unique purpose.

“The Patterson Family Foundation project is a source of immense pride for the design team and Multistudio as a whole,” said Project Architect Ryan Tretow, AIA, NCARB. “Our work with the Patterson family represents a partnership that has thrived for over 30 years, building upon a base of trust, creative freedom, and design excellence. We are thrilled to share this award with the Patterson Family and look forward to continued work with the organization.”
