

John M. Wilkins, Jr., AIA, has more than 40 years of experience at Multistudio in planning, programming, and architectural design. Tenacity, clarity, and creativity define John’s management approach. He immerses himself in design challenges and works tirelessly to protect a client’s vision, program, budget, and schedule, ensuring successful outcomes. John applies his extensive technical expertise to resolving issues affecting project delivery, design, and cost control.
John is energized by complex projects that demand inventive design solutions. A skilled leader of both people and processes, he serves as Managing Principal of the Lawrence studio and has directed many of the firm’s largest educational, athletic, and civic projects. Through communication and collaboration, John fosters high-performing teams while cultivating an environment of trust and respect.
A graduate of the University of Kansas, John has maintained a close relationship with his alma mater for decades. He has led the architectural teams for dozens of university projects, including the DeBruce Center, Allen Fieldhouse and Athletic Complex transformation, Bioscience Technology Business Center, Structural Biology Center, Multidisciplinary Research Building, and Earth, Energy and Environment Center. His community work includes bond projects for Lawrence Public Schools and the Lawrence Public Library Renovation and Expansion, which earned multiple accolades, including Library Journal’s prestigious "Landmark Library" award.
