The Patterson Family Foundation headquarters, recipient of a Merit Award, unites the foundation's philanthropic arm, financial management team, and family asset operations under one roof. Designed as a balance of independence and collaboration, the 18,000-square-foot workplace gives each group its own identity while drawing them together through shared amenities and a welcoming reception area. Materiality plays a central role, with white oak expressed in different tones and treatments—rustic, refined, and elevated—creating continuity across the space while reflecting the distinct cultures of its users. Located in Kansas City's River Market, the headquarters reflects the foundation's mission while positioning it for the future.
Lee's Summit High School, a recipient of an Honor Award, reimagines its sprawling campus around a new circulation spine that unifies learning environments both indoors and out. The design team developed Innovation Way, tying together previously disconnected areas, featuring classrooms and collaboration spaces designed for real-world learning. The Greenway introduces outdoor classrooms and facilitates secure movement across campus. At key intersections, Innovation Hubs provide flexible, work-like settings where students, teachers, and business partners can collaborate on projects. The result is a future-ready campus that embodies the district's directive to "think big and lead the charge."
These recognitions highlight the range of Multistudio's work—from an intimate, mission-driven workplace to a transformative high school campus—and affirm our commitment to creating spaces that build identity, foster collaboration, and open opportunities for communities.
