American Royal

A new campus experience to serve as the epicenter of learning and competition in the world of food and agriculture.

Currently located in the historic West Bottoms neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri, the American Royal, a 501(c)3 organization, will relocate to its new location in Wyandotte County, KS, to support its 124-year legacy as the premier, state-of-the-art food and agriculture showcase for discovery, learning, and engagement.

As a campus with over one million square feet of barns, arenas, learning and engagement spaces, programmed educational landscapes, and support buildings, the facilities will become a destination and the epicenter of agriculture. Catalytic in nature, the American Royal campus will impact the surrounding area, bringing like-minded companies, institutions, and businesses — forming a district focused on the future of food and agriculture.

The design concept was inspired by American Royal’s history of ingenuity and pays homage to its original home in Kansas City’s West Bottoms. Designed with the visitor’s experience in mind, the site planning, architecture, interiors, and experiential graphics draw on the innate beauty and resourcefulness of cultivating food. Familiar forms and reclaimed materials are used in signature moments, elevating the visitor experience and giving place to the significance of agriculture.

The new headquarters is slated for completion in 2025 and will be home to the Rodeo, Livestock exhibits and competitions, equine showcases, and other events for the organization. Learn more about this project and keep up with the latest updates by visiting americanroyalontherise.com.

We are strengthening our legacy with this new facility that will serve as the epicenter of learning and competition within the food and agriculture industry. The complex is not just about educational programs and competitive events. It's also about creating a worldwide conversation, changing hearts and minds, and calling for action within the agriculture and livestock communities.
